Rapid chilling of freshly collected milk to below 4°C within 2 hours. Stainless steel insulated tank with temperature monitoring system.
Cold storage and temperature-controlled bulk milk holding. Automated temperature logging. Critical link in the unbroken cold chain from farm to processing.
HTST pasteuriser (72°C/15 seconds), cream separator, standardiser, homogeniser and plate heat exchanger for post-pasteurisation cooling. Core of the production system.
Automatic pouch filling and impulse sealing. Batch coding, date and MRP stamping on every pouch. Fill volume verified per Legal Metrology Rules.
Procurement hub for local farmers. Quality tests — COB, lactometer, acidity, fat — at point of collection. Maintains farmer FSSAI registration records and payment ledger.
Dairy processing generates effluent with high BOD from milk proteins, fats and cleaning chemicals. Poornam Dairy has installed a 3–4 KLD capacity ETP (MBBR technology) — treating all wastewater before any discharge. This is mandatory for HPPCB Consent to Operate.
First pre-treatment unit. Captures fat, oil and grease from dairy washings before entering the biological reactor. Essential for dairy effluent.
Neutralizes pH swings from CIP acid/alkali cycles (pH 3–11). Balances flow before biological treatment. Protects the MBBR biology.
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor — aerobic biological treatment breaking down BOD/COD using naturally occurring microorganisms.
Settles biological sludge from treated effluent. Sludge routed to drying beds.
Tertiary polishing removes residual suspended solids and color for land-irrigation-quality output.
